Separation of Church and State - The Opposite of What People Think

Jefferson was a rationalist
who edited out divine references in his Jefferson Bible.
His promise not to meddle in religion has been converted
by modernists into a reaction against the faith.

Separation of church and state has been turned upside down. The original states mandated church membership for voting. Some of you slept through the Half-way Covenant discussion in American history.

The states were very suspicious of President Jefferson, who was Unitarian in doctrine. His pledge of church/state separation meant that the federal government would not interfere with the states' religious requirements. That was his promise.
