We Should Prize Western Culture

Lightning strikes the Parthenon, 2500 years old.

Western culture should be prized rather than ignored. English is Greek and Roman in origin. So are all the things we value: democracy, the law, art, literature, poetry, drama, philosophy, architecture, medicine, and engineering. Most of this started in Athens, spread through Alexander the Great, and extended across the known world through the Western Roman and Byzantine empires. We are all Greeks.
